(Math 317)Homework 9(Due 5/13, Friday)

Hi all,

Projects will be assigned on Monday, and due the next Monday. You are encouraged to work together, but please make sure to write them down yourselves. Come and discuss the problems with me if you have ANY questions. My goal with the project is for all of you to go through the process of working with new definitions, writing rigorous proofs, learn something and get full credit for it.

Here is some homework due next Friday:

Section 3.7: 6,7,8. Read example 3.7.4 for the \epsilon-\delta definition of limit.

Section 6.1: 2,6,9,17(a)

Hi all,

Due to the academic festival, there is no class on Friday, May 6th. You are strongly encouraged to participate: not only because you will learn some interesting things, but also you will do the same thing soon. It would be nice to see you peers give talks.

By Wednesday, we would have finished all the proof strategies. A project will be assigned to you, where several open questions will be given, and you are supposed to work out a reasonable conclusion and write down your proofs for them.

You are, of course, welcome to ask questions, discuss with me or your classmates about these problems. However, you have to write down your own work. As always, you can get points back with corrections, please do show me your own work.
